Academic
Free for research, teaching and students
Academic and non-profit work gets a licence key that removes the attribution watermark, at no cost. We ask for a citation instead of payment — that is genuinely the whole exchange.
Who qualifies
- · Academic research at a university, institute or hospital
- · Registered non-profit and NGO work
- · Teaching materials, courses and workshops
- · Students, for coursework and theses
- · Publicly funded research software
Work funded by a company, or a tool you charge for, needs a commercial licence — including a university spin-out selling a product.
How to request one
- 1. Email us from your institutional address. That address is the whole verification step; we do not ask for documents.
- 2. Tell us the institution, the group or course, and roughly what you are building.
- 3. List the domains the key should cover, including localhost for development.
- 4. We reply with a key, usually within two working days.
Or email [email protected] directly if the button does not open your mail client.
How to cite
If a figure made with KatuCharts appears in a publication, cite the software. The repository also carries a CITATION.cff, so GitHub's "Cite this repository" button produces the same entry.
